Zila Ghaziabad: It’s fun to play a baddie, says Arshad Warsi

Bollywood New Movie Zila Ghaziabad

In Anand Kumar's Zila Ghaziabad, Arshad Warsi plays a negative role, his first in a career spanning over a decade.

Talking about the character, the actor says, "I have never played a baddie and now that I have played it, I think it's super fun. I won't lie and say that I went and observed people and did my homework because it really isn't that difficult. It wasn't like I was looking forward to a negative role, but this film was great fun to shoot."

Recently, a still from the film that has Arshad's hands on Minissha Lamba's bosom, went viral and stirred up a controversy. He says, "The scene was essential to the plot. Minissha and I share a quirky relationship and that picture was just about that."

In the movie, Arshad pairs up with Sanjay Dutt once again after the Munnabhai series. Ask him if the equations are still the same and he says, "Of course. We are both very secure actors. Our comfort level has remained the same. It also helps that both of us have known each other for a while now. He is very secure in his own space and gives me a lot of freedom."

About his career, the actor says, "I consider myself very lucky. The roles that I have played till date were fantastic. I think acting comes naturally to me, dancing was much more difficult. However, I think I could do much better. I am looking forward to doing that film where a filmmaker will push the envelope and make me do something extraordinary."

Zila Ghaziabad, produced by Vinod Bachchan, presented by Bharat Shah and Mohammed Fasih and being released by Showman International, releases February 22.
