Sandalwood actress Soundarya says that she falls in love very easily. And this time, the gorgeous actress fell in love with “Parvathi.” If you are wondering whether this new love has any godly connotations, you are wrong! Firstly, she is not real but is the actress’ character in her upcoming flick, Paro W/O Devdas. Secondly, Soundarya feels extremely lucky to have bagged the lead and she can’t wait to complete the film. The movie directed by Kiran Govi is the actress’ second film.
“I am really excited about this film. I think any actress would boast of a role like this,” she gushes. The 22-year-old portrays the “perfect” Indian Brahmin girl who is a Kathak dancer and falls in love with Devdas, played by Srinagara Kitty. Define ‘perfect’ we ask her. “You know, the coy, homely girl! She is very cute and easy to like and even love,” she adds.
Soundarya has already begun shooting for this film and reveals that a song sequence is complete as well. She adds that she is taking dance lessons. “I don’t do the typical Kathak in this film. It’s more of a contemporary take on this beautiful dance form,” she says.
She further adds that there wasn’t much homework to do as far as the film is concerned. “The director is my source and I am his muse,” she says. Keeping her fingers crossed, she is hopeful that the film will hit the screens by April, after which the following seven months will hopefully fetch her more work. “Cinema is my main priority for 2013,” says the actress. A little birdie also told us that the actress’ mother plays a major role in her decision to choose films. “Yes she does. I don’t think I am very reliable when it comes to making decisions. So mom is my ‘go-to’ person,” she states. So does that make her a mama’s daughter? “In a way, it does,” she admits while adding that though most people say acting is in her blood, she begs to differ. “When I am in front of the camera, I am in my happy place. I never get cranky on set if there is a delay, because I am just so happy being there. I find solace in front of the lens,” says the animal lover.
Her love for animals runs so deep in her veins that she once created a lot of hype when she tweeted the apathy of a well-known animal shelter in the city. “Someday in the future, I will open an animal shelter or a home for strays and abandoned animals. This is one of my long standing passions and desires,” Soundarya says.
Finally, with an industry filled with good-lookers has anyone managed to captivate or hold her attention? She scoffs, “I am very new right now and at the moment I’m too full of myself. Maybe once I get over ‘ME’ will I be open to the idea of dating,” she concludes.
